![]() Msi afterburner or evga precision x 2015 pro#I did have a problem recently with Ver 5.3.6 on Prometheus, (GTX-750 TI), in Win 7 Pro 圆4. I thought that your Shortcut had disappeared. It's running cause the fans on the GPU are responding to the defaults but I can't access the GUI. It just doesn't show the GUI on the desktop. The shortcut is on the desktop, and on the start menu. Also, right click on Shortcut again, and "Send To" -> Desktop, and see if it will put the Shortcut back on the Desktop that way. Then launch from Start Menu to make fan adjustments. Right click on Precision X Shortcut there, and click "Pin to Start Menu". Start -> All Programs -> EVGA Precision X I haven't encountered this problem myself. The good news is that it still is running but I'm unable to adjust the fan curve like I had it. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling, same effect. Restart your computer and check if the issue persists.īe even with this, I still can't see the program. The default value should be 200000 millisecond in decimal, or 200 seconds. Double click the 'ForegroundLockTimeout' key. Navigate to the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.ģ. I even looked at Microsoft for an answer. I even did a google search on line to see if anyone else had seen this. I've closed and opened the program a few times and have even rebooted the computer twice. When it cleared, Precision X was not to be found anywhere on the desktop. When I clicked on it and attempted to move it to a lower portion of the screen, the screen momentarily lagged. As I moved the open boxes to different parts of the desktop, Precision X was in the upper left corner. I figured this was due to the resolution setting on the monitor and that it had been off over night. This morning while checking the computer I noticed all the open boxes where moved to the top of the desttop. Msi afterburner or evga precision x 2015 install#Afterburner works and Precision is not something I will ever install on my machine again. So I had a new experience. I've been trying to solve this for years and I'm finally going to solve it by purchasing a gpu from another company and using MSI Afterburner. While I appreciate your solution - it's cumbersome and not really a good one. Yes we have icx and we can see the temps but they gave us no practical way to control our fans. Practically speaking there was no reason for EVGA to deviate from the reference design as far as cooling. Msi afterburner or evga precision x 2015 software#While I'm at it let me just say do not buy EVGA cards since they refuse to supply a working fan controller via software and their bios files are wanting as far as cooling the cards properly alone. It will also crash and leave the icon in the tray and you won't know it's gone. It causes stutters, uses way too many cpu cycles, and will leave your fans at 0 intermittently and unless you are monitoring that's dangerous. It's going to do nothing but cause issues. Remove any and all EVGA software from your PC. Lat note: I am on the latest release of Precision X, Geforce Drivers, and am using MSI Afterburner 4.6 Beta 4 (this is critical). I don't sleep or hibernate my computer so I don't know if it stays through those. You'll need to repeat the process if you restart (and probably between log outs). Note: This does not last through restarts. Try both like Blizzie suggested and see which one you like the best. Though i can't say anything about msi afterburn as i never used it.
